Olusegun Baiyewu, MBBS
Olusegun Baiyewu graduated MBBS from the University of Lagos in 1976, he obtained the Fellowship of Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College in Psychiatry in 1984. He had a long career in geriatric psychiatry and in 1994/1995 he trained on research methodology in Alzheimer Disease at the Department of Psychiatry Indiana University School of Medicine. He is a member of a number of International Societies interested in the mental health of older adults; one of such is International Psychogeriatric Association where he was a member of its Board of Directors between 2007 and 2013. Dr. Baiyewu’s research interests are in depression, dementia and behavioral and psychological symptoms in dementia and has published research reports in these areas from the African setting. He has formally retired as professor from services of the University of Ibadan but has been invited to continue with some educational programs as well as purse his research interests.
